Although it starts out as a kinda weird deflated bagpipe, the Airlie retro sun shelter goes from flat to glorious in the blink of an eye. A quick glance over the instructions is all that’s required and voila – you have the most beautiful striped sun shelter on the entire beach – no fluro tent materials here! It takes all of ten seconds to secure: filling the sand pockets on the front corners and down the back. (And there are four sand pegs included for days when the breeze becomes wind).
This beach shelter doesn’t have a base or ground cover which is genius! It means the kids can play in the sand in the shade (safely because it is UVE95+% – most effective protection).
The vented canopy is attached to the main shelter so you’ll never lose it. There’s a handy hanging hook on the roof, and a heap of mesh storage pockets along the back.
Pack up is just as simple as assembly. The carry bag means transport and storage is a breeze and it leaves your hands free to wrangle the other beach gear, the picnic basket or the cooler. TIP: pack up is much simpler if you remember to empty the sand pockets first!
